The estate:
The Château de la Terriere has been constructed in Cercié, in the heart of the historic Beaujolais, since the 13th century;
Facing the Mont Brouilly, the castle and its vines spread southwards over a porphyry hill, on the opposite of other Brouillys which are located on more sandy soils. This is what gives to this wine a unique character.
Since 2003, Henry Plasse, the wine grower and his oenologist, Fréderic Maignet, have succeeded in optimizing the wines through a strict control of the yields, an old fashioned work of the soils and a major renovation of the cellar.
Beaujolais-Villages Château de la Terrière
The 50 year old vines produce a concentrated juice. The wine is delicate, supple and round with floral and fruity red berry notes like raspberry. Drink it within 3 years.
|
Brouilly Tradition Château de la Terrière
Beautiful ruby colour with a powerful and delicate bouquet of red berries like wild strawberries and raspberries. The silky tannins give roundness and a lot of charm. You can keep it up to 4 years.
|
Brouilly Cuvée Jules de Souzy Château de la Terrière
Old vines matured in oak barrels and unfiltered. The nose is powerful with black fruit notes, vanilla and a touch of liquorish. Very concentrated with an amazing depth. Like Burgundy wines, it has a long ageing capacity. |
