The estate:

This estate is owned by the Dupond Family, one of the oldest families in Beaujolais, who is involved in three well known domains.
The Domaine de Boischampt is located in Jullié, in the north of Beaujolais, at an elevation of about 300 meters.
These vines are growing on a granite soil, very poor and pebbly allowing a small production of quality wines.
The grapes have been enjoying ,for several years, an excellent ripeness while keeping some freshness.
The two winegrowers, Alain CHAMBARD and Thierry DESCOMBES have always been producing under integrated agriculture. Mechanization, anyway, is almost impossible because of the slopes.

Beaujolais-Villages – Domaine de Boischampt :

Contrary to other Beaujolais-Villages that are produced in the south, this northern Beaujolais-Village is mineral, well-structured with pleasant floral aromas.

Juliénas – Domaine de Boischampt :

The estate produces a wine high in tannins, with red berries and black berries aromas and spicy notes, like cinnamon.

Vieillissement :

The Beaujolais Village has to be drunk young. You can keep the Julienas between 3 or 4 years in a good cellar.
