The estate:
The vines from the Domaine de Chardignon are located at the bottom of the volcano hill, on the rising sun slope and they benefit from the sun all day long. Every year it allows the grapes to reach a very good degree of maturity. Roger Manigan, one of the best known wine makers of this appellation is looking for powerful, mineral and long ageing wines that are very typical for the Côte de Brouilly. The vineyard:
The Mont Brouilly is an old volcano made of hard blue stone, the andésite which is excellent for wines. It is one of the oldest vineyards in the Beaujolais and the Romans already grew vines there. Today the Côte de Brouilly is less known than its ally, the Brouilly, but it is an excellent alternative to differentiate your wine list.
