Our identity

Both Beaudet and Dupond families have been major players for the history in Beaujolais.

When Antoine Dupond started to commercialize his wines in Lyon and Saint Etienne in 1860, it had never come up to his mind that his descendants would one day carry on growing vines and then export their wines all over the world. The Dupond family owns vines in Beaujolais, Beaujolais-Villages, Brouilly, Julienas.

A few years later in 1869, Joseph Beaudet, a vine owner in Julienas decides to skim through France and the world to find new customers. His son-in-law and the next generations extended the family properties and made a selection of the best regional domains, whose owners were often friends. These wines are widely spread, both in France and overseas and Paul Beaudet is a reference thanks to his silky wines, loyal ambassadors of the terroir.

Built during the 13th century, the Château de la Terrière is located in Cercié, at the bottom of the Mont Brouilly, really close to the touristic wine road. The domain was purchased by the Barbet family in 2003, after having been the property of powerful and important families for ages. This new owner, passionate by this unique south facing terroir and located on porphyry and sand hills has undergone important work. As a matter of fact he overhauled the wineries, he renovated the maturing cellars and he set up new techniques on the vineyards so as to respect the environnement.

The Château de la Terrière is constantly rewarded and now it aims at being a local reference. This domain is exploiting the following appellations: Beaujolais-Villages, Brouilly and Moulin à Vent.

In addition to our properties we distribute the wines of some other growers because we appreciate their way of working and also because we share the same values: loyalty and respect of our roots.

Our offices are located on the premises of the Château de la Terrière that’s why we have have our noses in the vines and our ears near the cellar.

Come and visit us, we will be pleased to present you our terroir and make you discover our expertise...
