Appellations Brouilly Vieilles Vignes A.O.P. Cuvée Jules de Souzy
Colour Red
Grape variety Gamay noir. The oldest vines are more than 100 years old but on average they are about 40.
Soil Decomposed pink granite with a mix of sand and pebbles. The soil contains little clay, so it drains well. Hence an excellent maturity of the grapes.
Wine making process Wine-making under controlled temperature with total de-stemming. Maceration between 15 and 20 days under continuing temperature control. Few months maturing in 2 / 5 years old oak barrels. This wine is not filtered in order to preserve its complexity.
 
Tasting
Powerfull nose with raspberry and vanilla aromas. Very concentrated and superb length in mouth.

Suggestions
To be drunk at 16/17°C. with grilled meats or cooked pork meats.
 
Ageing
Long ageing wine like a Grand Bourgogne.
